What do you need for the perfect party? Free beer, free burgers, free hot dogs and balloons? Or how about a group of sexy men and women? Or maybe some great music, fun games and fantastic prizes? Even better – what if it is all for a good cause?
On Sunday the 4th of October, Friends of the Humane Society (FOTHS) will be hosting the launch of their 2010 Humane Society Calendar at Lime Bar and Grill (opposite Tropic Air Terminal) from 12 noon until 6pm. The calendar features some of San Pedro’s most gorgeous pet owners posing for glamorous shots with their pets to help raise money for the SAGA Humane Society.
The calendar sells for $20, but especially for the launch, every calendar sold will include a choice of a free beer, free burger or free hotdog. Special preview copies of the calendar have been viewed and comments include ‘Wow – That’s hot!’, ‘Holy Moly!’ and ‘I’ll take ten please!’, so you are sure not to be disappointed.
With lovely ladies, bare chested boys and their adorable pets featured throughout, the calendar has something for everyone. The stunning shots were taken by Conch Creative and are all glossy and beautiful black and white portraits. The calendar is tasteful and makes a great Christmas present as not only does it show off the models and their pets but shows off some of the best of San Pedro.

September 10th a Splash in San Pedro!

The Belizean Pride shunned throughout the month of September but on Thursday, September 10th, it was clearly visible as hundreds partook in the days events. There were events held for the parade, the official coronation of the new Miss San Pedro Ambassador and to top it off finsihed with a big splash at the Holiday Beach front with the Family Fishing Tournament. As big fish hit the docks, curious passer-bys and fish enthusiats stood around the weigh in to catch a glimpse of the monster fishes caught. At the end of the run, Ramon's Village took home the top cash prize by having the most poundage of fish; a total of 181 pounds. Kudos to all who participated as well as its organizers! Below find images of the day...do enjoy!

Chetumal and Belize agree to promote sea and land connections

The additional run is being done by San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi
Belmopan, 17 August 2009.

The Embassy of Mexico informs that on 15 August, the Mayor of the of Othon P. Blanco (Chetumal), Mr. Andres Ruiz-Morcillo, and Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviación and Culture, Hon. Manuel Heredia, signed a Letter of Intent in order to promote the construction of a road between San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, and Xcalak (within the Municipality of Othon P. Blanco), Mexico. The objective of the Letter of Intent is to boost the tourism industry in the Chetumal Bay and the north of Belize, including Ambergris Caye. In particular, Mexico and Belize will seek to connect San Pedro with Xcalak (Mexico) and Mahahual with a road, from where an already existing access will make possible the connection with Chetumal or Tulum and Cancun.
The document was signed before the undersecretary of Tourism of the state of Quintana Roo, Mr. Armando Alvarez-Gonzalez, the director of the Port Authority of Quintana Roo, Mr. Javier Zetina-Gonzalez and the Ambassador of Mexico, H.E. Luis Manuel Lopez-Moreno.
Likewise, the Mayor of Othon P. Planco announced the project of a water taxi, which will link Chetumal and Xcalak with Belize. The future water taxi would depart from the “Muelle Fiscal” –the Customs Dock Facility in Chetumal- with a stop at Sarteneja and San Pedro and arrival at Xcalak. The run will be operated by the Belizean company San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi. This service will allow visitors from Chetumal to travel to San Pedro and Xcalak and from there to visit Mahahual and Chinchorro (Mexico). It will also allow Belizeans to travel easily from San Pedro to Chetumal. The new water taxi will benefit the local population on both sides of the border, it will boost the tourism industry and it will promote the economic development of the border area of Belize.
In Chetumal, Mexican officials boarded the boat for the familiarization trip, which showed the route of the upcoming water taxi service. They travelled to Sarteneja, where Hon. Heredia hosted them and the signing of the Letter of Intent took place.
